Your Wood-Destroying Insect Inspection:
During your wood-destroying insect (WDI) inspection, I will look for indications of infestation of wood-destroying organisms that may exist in the house using a visual-only examination. Here in the northeast, the organisms we need to worry about are carpenter ants, carpenter bees, powder-post beetles and termites. I will look for evidence such as:
- live insects;
- damage to wooden components;
- habitat that is conducive for WDO’s;
- mud tunnels;
- entrance/exit holes;
- insect parts and insect droppings (frass);
Any observations will be reported on and documented with photos, and further evaluation by a licensed pesticide applicator will be recommended. The report will be emailed as a separate attachment with photo documentation.
